Got a big idea

Got a big idea?

I estimate I have about 5 minutes to get your attention, so let’s get down to Sienna profit potential which is far more than anyone will have ever submitted to you. But don’t get too excited my only signing requirement is that after Virgin and Myself both make £1B each, nine tenths of future profit must go to good causes. Plant some trees, slow population growth, alternative energy and trying to get people to be nicer to one another. Its just to much money for any company to have.

By year six from SME travel companies we will generate £122,936,828 profit, by leveraging of VIRGIN’s other companies, we will replicate the business model to 100 maybe 1000 different businesses or industries. As a worst case scenario we are looking at £12,293,682,800 + Software Sales + If Virgin Holidays is not currently the worlds most profitable Travel Agent it soon will be, plus its quite possible we will Make Virgin Money the biggest banking institution in the world and the rest of the Virgin companies a lot more profitable.

This said, at a conservative £12B by year 6 the expediential growth of Sienna will could see Sienna generating more profit that all Virgin companies put together and in 15 years controlling half of all world trade.

I have provided 6 year financials for the SME travel company sector and a index. Please get your best financial brain to look at them. Please remember I’m not an accountant, save my parents and my girlfriend no one has seen this, they may not be orthodox accounting but the math is sound.

The financials are useless without the business plan, marketing plan and technical specs. I understand you don’t do do public disclosures at entry level 1, When you have analysed the financials I hope to be bumped up a round or to, I trust Virgin, but I don’t trust staff. 4 rival business to my own exist today from my ex staff. And there is absolutely nothing to stop an employee printing out my plan and run to Microsoft or Google, both would be very interested. The thought of Sienna falling into the wrong hands and using it for personal profit not for good is too much to risk.

I’d like a NDA or a director to contact me, as soon as he does I will send the Executive Summary. This explains the initial phase.

I’m just finishing the Phase 2 & technical speck artwork, which will be printed* in 2 weeks.

To see this I like an NDA or a meeting.

Ok , my 5 minutes are up but for a second read I’m going to address the questions asked in your “Got a big idea” webpage

1. So, you're onto a winner?
We’re always looking for the next BIG thing. Especially if it builds on our exciting businesses or creates brand new ones. All our Virgin companies live and breathe our core brand values and all new proposals or ideas need to reflect these values.

They are:

  • Championing the consumer – Sienna is for both business and the consumer, we aim to inform very the wisely, the most expensive cost singe staff group for Sienna 1.01 is in researchers and data capturers’.
  • Offering value for money - After the switch from business to business, to business to consumer we will offer better value for money than any other company
  • Delivering a quality product / experience – It’s all about quality and Experinace, look at my companies www.CapeVillas.com & www.ExperienceAfrica.com Read the homepage text of Ex Arica about the evolution of economics into the Experience Economics.
  • Driving innovation – Like you can’t believe, many world firsts, all combined.
  • Competitively challenging – Well seeing the end game is to connect all the worlds databases together, and make Sienna “THE GLOBAL DISTIBUTION, yep its defiantly challenging. Can’t wait.
  • And of course, having FUN! – Yep I work best in hot holiday conditions, (Although If I have to I can stay in London for a while) anyway traveling makes me creative, so if we can have holiday workshops for the programmers and I that’s a start to the fun, the NO1 rule in HR is keep them happy.

We’ve now been around for some 30 years or so. Over the years the Virgin companies that we’ve found to be most successful for us are ones that:

  • are marketing, sales and customer service focused,
Marketing, The most advanced affiliate marketing plan yet, by far. In the immortal words of Michael Campbell 2001 “Why bother with Search Engine Marketing at all! Just make an affiliate programme and let your affiliates to the marketing for you. Well that changed my marketing focus away from search engines preferring affiliate marketing and 10 years later I’ve done it.
Other marketing is a very clever Viral (word of mouth) marketing method, unique Game Marketing and about 2,000,000 magazines distributed a year, yes I’ve read your objections to paper and agree, but this really benefits both SIENNA & VIRGIN HOLIDAYS so we will plant lots and lots of trees.
Consumer service, I’ve spent fortunes taking my staff to customer service and branding lectures and workshops Virgin was the Flagship. One of many reasons why I have for 4 years now tailor made by business development and technical development specifically for VIRGIN. A big part of the software is dedicated to helping improve business customer service.
  • use the Virgin brand. To the MAX
  • have a well defined and different customer offer. Very well defined, I’ll present a 12 maybe 18 page brochure and for every page I could write a further 50 pages and I’ll still not be finished, and even then not cos I’ll have thought about more stuff, its really annoying at times, especially when someone’s talking to you and I drift off, my girlfriend really hates this..
Different, more a case of the same but better and all combined for ease of use and efficiency.
  • often delivered in partnership with experts in their field.

So if you think you’ve an idea that fits the bill and has the potential to become a major global business, we are open to your ideas.

2. So where are we looking for those winners?
We’ve got many different businesses across the world. To make it all easier and clearer we like to group them into areas.

These are:

  • Travel and tourism
  • Communications
  • Financial services
  • Leisure and entertainment
  • Retail
  • And increasingly, Health and Wellness

These are the areas that we are keen to develop in the future and where we believe our winning ideas are currently hiding.

3. Getting your message across

Each existing Virgin company takes responsibility for developing and growing in its own sector.

Once you've written your business proposal, you'll first need to contact the Corporate Development teams at individual Virgin company that your idea relates to.

If your idea does not fit with our current companies but it is fantastic in its own right, you can send it to Corporate Development at Virgin Management to the address in Section 6 and we’ll be happy to review it.

Each proposal is read and responded to. However, as you can appreciate, we receive a large volume of proposals, so please be patient for your reply.

We'd prefer you to send proposals that are document based and only send photos of any products or prototypes to help explain your idea .

We cannot guarantee the return of any prototypes or products sent in so please do not send anything you want back. All proposals are archived for up to two years, and then destroyed after this period of time.

Sorry but we can't help with the production of any new inventions.

4. More detail on what we need...

When you first write to us, give us a quick summary of what your idea is about but please make sure you tell us:

  • What your product or service idea is
  • How it fits with the Virgin brand
  • Which business sector your idea falls into
  • What stage of development your project has reached
  • What your involvement is, what role you would like to maintain
  • Why you are approaching Virgin and how you see Virgin becoming involved
  • What are the potential revenues and profits you see in year 3
  • We receive many proposals, but can take only a few forward. Top tip - you're most likely to be successful if the concept is already well developed, has large-scale potential and can be implemented soon.

Please Include a well defined executive summary no more than 2 pages long that explains your business plans in simple terms.

5. Keeping hush
You should know that whenever anyone at Virgin looks at a new business proposal, , our policy is not to sign Non Disclosure Agreements in the first instance. This is because we receive hundreds of proposals which are often similar to those suggested by others, or to ideas which we have already developed internally.
